Together Fund


This fund exists to help to reduce the negative impact of coronavirus and help community groups working with target audiences to grow and help more people.

The Together Fund (‘TF’) is a continuation of the Tackling Inequalities Fund (‘TIF’) that was set up in April 2020 as part of Sport England’s support package to help the sport and physical activity sector through the coronavirus (Covid-19) crisis.

The priority audiences are:

  • Lower socio-economic groups;
  • Culturally diverse communities;
  • Disabled people;
  • People with long-term health conditions.

Since its launch, TIF has enabled community groups to continue to exist and engage with their communities, supporting people to be engaged and active. The Together Fund is intended to help further growth and recovery of community organisations working with target audiences.

The Muslim Sports Foundation is committed to tackling inequalities via sports and physical activity within low socio-economic and ethnically diverse communities and invites your organisation to apply for a Together Fund award to make a real difference in your community.

Who can apply?

Your organisation can apply if you are a not-for-profit voluntary or community club or organisation, a registered charity, a non-profit company or community interest company (CIC) or other social enterprise or a statutory body. We are unable to accept applications from individuals, sole-traders, organisations not established in the UK or companies that can re-direct profits generated from this funding to directors, members or shareholders.

How much funding can I apply for?

Whilst it is expected most of the applications will be between £500 – £3,000, larger projects will be considered.

What can be funded?

The types of activity that might be funded could include:

  • Funding for community groups to find new ways of keeping our target audience active in this period
  • Offering advice and training support
  • Increasing resilience, capacity, and capability of delivery bodies

The following costs can include:

  • Staff costs
  • Training costs
  • Equipment costs
  • Rent / Facility hire
