Dr Aaliya Goyal
Dr Aaliya Goyal is a committed advocate for health equity, inclusion and community empowerment. She brings experience from her clinical background, as a general practitioner and occupational health physician, and national and regional leadership roles in the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP), the largest medical royal college in the world, and the Society of Occupational Medicine (SOM) where she has championed policies to address structural inequality.
Her influence extends to senior leaders across health and public services, including organisations focused on the diversity of professionals within the UK. She regularly participates in written and spoken media with international reach.
Most of all, she remains grounded in community, supporting charities such as Diabetes UK and Macmillan Cancer to engage with under-served communities and giving public health messaging in community venues including places of worship, schools and youth clubs. She is particularly focused on mentoring and coaching women and girls to reach their potential at all education, career and leadership stages.
Her work has been recognised by awards from the RCGP, SOM and Faculty of Public Health, who awarded her Membership through Distinction for her collaborative work to overcome health inequalities. She is the British Muslim Awards Muslim Woman of the Year 2025 and been named several times in the Top 50 Influential Muslims in Europe list.
